Oct 2005 - RAID controller not found (megaraid) - We went to upgrade a few servers from V5 to V6 and found that the raid drives on the servers were no longer recognized. Astaro says it won't be fixed in V6. Who knows if it will be fixed in V7. We had to buy new hardware to run Astaro.
This is what I'm lookin for. Danke Karsten, Thanks Drees. I'm thinking that you have some sort of a typo w/ the 6100 days. Respect! That you are digging into the proxy service that deep so that you can see that it is not doing ranges! Great.
Any more?
Thanks
Daryn

In general, I'm very happy with Astaro support... they helped us diagnose a misconfigured VPN between ASL and a Cisco 3xxx, etc.
There's one case I opened which was closed without any resolution however... the IPS blocks "OVERSIZE REQUEST-URI DIRECTORY" traffic... for us, this is a false alarm as ASL 6.x has snort configured with the default 500 bytes, and it is not adjustable in ASL. (it should be through snort.conf but that is not really accessible in ASL.) Therefore, we are unable to use the IPS AT ALL, because this rule cannot be disabled and it is blocking legitimate traffic.
I opened a ticket with Astaro support, but they didn't seem to understand my issue, and it seems like they didn't send it to engineering.
Sounds like your overall support experience is similar to ours, Barry. Generally they are good when it's an issue that doesn't involve a limitation of Astaro, but if it does (ie, it would require some engineering support and a bugfix release to address the issue), they tend to just dismiss the issue, especially if it's an issue that few people complain about.
I hate to bitch as overall Astaro is a good product, but if no-one complains, how will they make it better? [:)]
As a software/product engineer myself, I welcome all feedback, good or bad!
