Astaro is seeing my network as having a max speed of 4.5Mb/s in the Reporting section under Network, and download speeds are showing the same. Both NICs are actually gigabit. The router is Dual-WAN, 10/100, with a combined total speed of about 13Mb/s. I originally had a crappy USB adapter for the WAN side and figured that's what was causing it, but I just replaced it with an Intel 1000/Pro PT PCIE adapter. It's showing an improvment (it was seeing it as 2Mb/s), but still not where it should be (unless Astaro is just reporting the maximum speed that it has seen, rather than the max speed of the network adapter itself).
I'm using the Astaro virtual appliance image for VMWare. Is anyone else seeing this, or have you encountered it previously? I'm not sure if this is a VMWare problem or an Astaro problem, maybe it's a limitation of the virtual appliance image. Everything else is running great, and the internet speed is pretty much about where it should be for a 4Mb/s connection, but it should be more.
If anyone is using VMWare, I would appreciate at least just hearing if you're getting full speeds or if it's some kind of limitation with VMWare (the virtual network adapters are the "AMD PCNET" ones). Once I have some idea what side the problem is on then I can take it from there, if nobody has seen this before.
