Can't Install License???

Question for everyone:

My old Astaro box just gave up the ghost.  I recently went out and purchased a new 1U Pentium 4 server to replace it.  This server happens to have HyperThreading.

To my dismay, when I installed Astaro on this box and apply my license, it keeps reverting back to the pre-installed 7 day license!!! [:O] 

My question is this: the server is for my home network. I currently have a home license and the additional $75USD/$59EUR upgrade for spam, virus, and surf control.  However, the home license does not include SMP support.  My guess is that the Linux kernel in Astaro is interpreting the HyperThreading as SMP.  I also can't seem to disable it in the BIOS.

I just spent $2,000USD for a new box just for Astaro, and just recently purchased the upgrade to the home license.  Please tell me I don't have to shell out more $$$$ just to enable my hyperthreading?? That is stupid.

    Turn off Hyperthreading in the BIOS on the machine.

    Please note in my original post that the BIOS does not seem to allow the disabiling of HyperThreading or SMP support.  I've even checked for BIOS updates and jumper settings with the manufacturer.

    Astaro team: do you support AMD X2 and new CPU with dual core for free home usage?

    You can install the Astaro Software without the SMP option!

    Summary: 
    Astaro provides three installation modes:
    1) single processor (default)
    2) multi processor (smp)
    3) single processor without APIC (classic)

    These modes can be selected directly after booting from the installation CD.

    Further Information: 
    1) single processor (default)

    This mode is the standard installation option. It installs Astaro Security Linux on single CPU machines. 
    Uses APIC (power management) which is required by some modern mainboards. 
    This is the recommended mode for maximum reliability.

    2) multi processor (SMP)

    This mode supports multi-processor machines. 
    Uses APIC (power management) which is required by some modern mainboards.


    3) single processor without APIC (Classic)

    This uses the same installation as mode 1 (default) and is designed for backwards compatibility 
    No APIC support. 
    This mode is needed for some old mainboards or for broken APIC implementations in order to work correctly.
    This mode is recommended if:
    - NICs do not respond (settings are in order but no packets can be sent through the NICs)
    - NICs do not respond after a fail over (high availability) (settings are in order but no packets can be sent through the NICs)

    Try Medic's Suggestion.. also, I'd check with the MB manufacturer for maybe an updated BIOS.. I've never seen one that wouldn't let you turn off Hyperthreading.  Considering Motherboards are only around $80.00 to $150.00 apiece, swapping that out for one that does support turning off hyperthreading in the BIOS will probably be your cheapest option.
