hi
being a victim of the 'you seem to know a bit about IT' syndrome means i find myself implementing a gateway on our 5 user LAN
the LAN is configured currently with a SuSE 10 PDC and users authenticate from their XP boxes to log into their /home directories (which are mapped to their various My Documents folders)
roaming profiles are enabled so logon is user rather than machine specific
it has been decreed we need a gateway and astaro seems to come closest to our needs but a few things i'm unclear on :

will astaro do virus scanning on downloads (say FTP or HTTP) as well as emails?

can things like URL filtering rules be varied on a per-user as distinct from per-machine basis ?

i'm not using LDAP or anything too sophisticated for the user database on the PDC. will i have to set up the users on the astao box seperately or can i have logon to the PDC as sufficient to also logon to astaro ?
if the answer is that i need to have seperate users on astaro, are we saying then that users will have 2 logons to negotiate to access the Net - one for the PDC and another for astaro ?
