enable ssh access?

hi,
i have setup ssh access in "system->settings", now i can connect and get the certificate, but when i try to login with root@ or admin@ it returns, Permission denied, please try again.

After putting in my password more than 3 times, i yet know that it recognizes my ip well, because i have inserted my host to not block after 3 false login attempts.  But i cannot login?   Where can i setup a new password or user for ssh? i can only find the "Definition->Users" settings, where no ssh access is selectable

    You have to login as
     loginuser 

    You have set the password while installing.
    After this you can switch to root access via
     su - 

    This is a security mechanism. Root is not allowed to gain direct access to console !!

    loginuser don't work. do I have to do a configuration adds wiht this user?

    Hi Yomar and welcome to the UTM Community!

    Yes, you must configure the password for loginuser on the 'Shell Access' tab of 'System Settings' so that you can login at the console.  The only way to get to the command line directly as root is with an SSH key.

    The original question 12 years ago indicates that the poster was using root@ instead of root.
