Poweroff and shutdown...help

Hi all,
I have a ASL server with a P3, 512 MB ram, 40 GB HD and a board that supports the APCI controll. I'd like to know how I could poweroff my server without press the button of poweroff after shutdown. Is it possible to use apmd or somethink similar? Is it possible to configure ASL to make poweroff and not just shutdown? What is wrong with my ASL..?
