Should these msgs concern me?

MSG 1:
Your license for Spam Protection will expire in 21 days. (I didn’t even know I had spam protection)

MSG 2:
Your license for Intrusion Protection will expire in 21 days. (I thought this was part of the basic home license) 

-- Astaro Security Gateway 6.101 License usage : 2 of 10 users active Please refer to the manual for detailed instructions.

What should I do to correct this situation?

    Sounds like you have an older license.

    Try going to the license portal and upgrading the license to a v5/v6 license model.
    (Assuming you are running ASL v5/v6 ??)

    Please bear with me; I don’t see where to update the license. I have looked around the portal but nothing that says update from v5 to v6 license.  Im running ASL v6 with what I thought was a v6 license.

    Again thanks for any help.


    As a side note... if anyone is interested I’ve also noticed some discrepancies in the license information between what the portal says and what my webadmin page says
      
    License discrepancies:
    When I log in to the astaro webpage to manage the license this is what I see.
    Concurrent Connections:  32000 **different then what webadmin says
    AstaroSpamProtection:  ON (31 Dec 2004 - 31 Dec 2007) **update says I have an invalid license
        
    My webadmin license page provides the following information.
    Max. Concurrent Connections: 16000  **different then astaro.com license       
    Spam Protection: Valid from 12/31/2004 until 12/31/2005 **says invalid license if I try to use it

    Your license is based on the old license model. You have Spam Protections enabled but Astaro only sells eMail Subscription. Spam Protection was for free before, but with the new license model, you have to pay for it and Astaro shortened the lifetime. If you update your licence in the my.astaro.com portal to the new one, you will have IPS for free but Spam/Email Protection has to be paid.

    I have been all over the my.astaro.com site. I can download my license, change its name, renew optional subscriptions, but I dont see anyplace to upgrade from a v5 to a v6 license. Please explain where in the portal I can find this option.

    When you are viewing your license it should give you an option to upgrade the license IF it is the older version.  If it is a newer license, or has already been upgraded then the option will not be there.  When you are viewing the license, what version does it list?  As for the SPAM protection, that is part of the free license for 6, but the content / virus filtering is not.

    I have just verified with mine, and the current license model lists as version 5.0.  If you have that you are up to date on the licensing scheme.

    Great my license is version 5.0 so I’m up to date. Having said that, lets bring this full circle so I can rest easier. 

    Should I be concerned about the warning msgs I am getting? Am I about to lose my ids/ips? Or is this some fubar left over from the old license when I was running asl v5?

    When you view your license what dates does it show for the start and expiration?  That should give you the true answer.  

    I believe when it expires it does not just stop the updates for the IPS and other features, but disables them as well so yes, you could loose that functionality until an updated license is installed.
