simply connect your UPS device via USB with your ASG device, thats it.
You will get notifications for UPS device connected/disconnected, power failure/power restored, shuting down because UPS battery is nearly exhausted.
Reporting->Hardware will show you UPS statistics (if connected via USB).
There no settings or switches for UPS support in the WebAdmin.
Hi, I have a Smart UPS RT3000 working on the lan; so I need to connect to my Astaro with a USB link? With this link can Astaro shut down when there is a power failure and then restart when the power is restored? How can set the time to do this? (no webadmin) Thanx, Anty
I have a APC Back-UPS ES 350. It only cost me $60US, It has a USB cable that came with it and it worked fine when I pluged it in. I unpluged the power from the wall and got an E-Mail notifacation, When I pluged it back in I got another notifacation saying it is back on Line power.
it's a quite nice new feature. If I understand it right you only can shutdown the Astaro, but when I've got an ASL and an UPS I've probably got some other servers to shutdown in case of power failure.
Wouldn't it be nice to initiate the shutdown of network servers from the ASL? Is something like that possible to add in future? Or does Astaro support the Network Shutdown Module from MGE?
I have an APC Smart-UPS 1500, the new black model. It has both RS232 and USB connections on the back. I learned the hard way that the UPS won't support both RS232 and USB hookups. With the black RS232 cable connected to our Windows file server, I connected in the USB cable as well, to also connect the ASL firewall. Unfortunately, The APC Smart-UPS disabled the RS232 port as soon as I plugged in the USB cable. Be carefull of this.
