This option will enable a device agent on your firewall preparing it for the integration into the central management solution Astaro Command Center (ACC).
The Astaro Command Center is a central management product consisting of common central management features such as monitoring, maintenance, change management, and single sign-on WebAdmin access. It provides a general overview of the state of each monitored firewall, its version, update level, current load, and critical security events. The information is accessible via a graphical Web-based frontend providing you with various view options for all monitored devices.
To have your firewall monitored by the Astaro Command Center, please create an appropriate network definition on the Definitions >> Networks screen first and select this definition from the ACC Server list. Please note that the communication between the firewall and ACC takes place on port 4433, whereas the Astaro Command Center can be accessed by a Web client via the HTTPS protocol on port 443.
After selecting the server you will then be presented with a fingerprint of the certificate used for your ACC installation. If the fingerprint is correct, please confirm by clicking Start.
The Configuration Manager is only usable, if you got a 20+ astaro device enviroment, with a more ore less easy configuration. With all other configurations, it will give you a real pain in the a. .
Another trouble is, that the updates for the Configuration Manager always lacks 3 or more releases behind. So the new features only can be used 4 months after release of the ASL patch.
