Why doesn't Astaro stop traffic after

I disable all filters, NAT, HTTP proxies. The only proxy left is the POP3 one.
My son plays these games that I want to control access to by the clock.
I have built a filter that drops all tcp/udp with his PC as the source, but it has no effect. Today I disabled all filters, NAT and proxies except POP3 and left the Astaro V6.002 in that state for 30 minutes and the traffic continued unabated.
You can't start new sessions and I can't even get my open sessions to work with the filters disabled, but his b******d games keep going on regardless. I even disconnected his cable for a short while to see if the sessions would drop.

    I know I am dredging up a very old thread, but was the "tutorial" for this ever written?
    I am looking for a way to control the access to World of Warcraft form my home network.

    I want to deny access from 11pm to 8am so my 21 year old son will not wake the rest of the house while yelling at his player buddies.

    I want to maintain all the rest of the access in case I chose to work late or my wife cares to surf the web when she can't sleep.

    Will Astaro do this?

    Yes it will, you could even block all access from his PC after the set time and allow your own PC unfettered access.

    Combination of time rules on proxies and packet filters and some DHCP settings.

    it was written, but it doesn't apply anymore. The http proxy structure was re-worked extensively in v7.***.

    A quick summary though. I developed my rules over the same issue as you and also trying to get him to sleep at night and work during the day.
    Definitions
    1/. define you hours of allow remember that time definition cannot go beyond midnight eg 2230-1159 and 0000-0230
    2/. define your collection of users depends on number of PC etc

    Packet filter
    1/. Packet filter rules that block everything below 1030, except specific sites.
    2/. A set of allow rules for the real people in the family using 1.
    3/. a set of time managed drop rule for the gamer using 1.

    Proxy profiles
    1/. review the default settings
    2/. create a profile for the full time access group
    3/. create a time managed profile for the gamer - you need to change classification  access in the fall back profile which is setup in the first tab of the http proxy page in webadmin.

    This setup does not stop streaming (audio or video) once the user has started a session.
