Middleware Failure

Today I had a email message from Astaro5 that middleware had stoppen ad was being restarted. After that message Astaro stopped working. Could not get to the web interface. It did not hand out dhcp addresses. Restarted multiple times and everthing *seemed* to come up properly except I never received the final beeps. I plan on re-installing and loading up the last config file tonight. However if anyone has any ideas please let me know. Also any ideas on the config restore proceedure. Thanks!!!!

    i also received a mail with the message that middleware or alicd or somthing like that doesn't run an was restartet. but there was no visible error after this notification.

    What contains middleware and what is this freaky thing alicd in fact?

    i also received this the very first time i used ASL never seen it since and no problem either.

    There are currently over 30 "service was restarted" messages available for the selfmonitoring subsystem. It is possible to receive some of those, even quite regularly, depending on your system configuration. Writing "I have seen one of those service restarted messages" is too generic to be of any help. 

    Seeing one of them does not indicate an uncorrectable error which must be handled by the admin. This notification just says "hey, this did not run, but I restarted it". This says nothing about _why_ the service did not run. I'd start wondering if that happens constantly.

    The middleware is (as the name says) between the graphical user interface and the system. It is responsible for setting user configured settings into the system. Alicd basically only counts connections and IP adresses. What is so freaky about it?
