User Authentication

We are currently reviewing the Astaro Security Gateway 220.  

We run an NT 4.0 domain.  On the Security Gateway 220, if we are utilizing the URL filtering and HTTP Proxy features to restrict and track user usage activity and configured the firewall with NTLM SAMS Authentication would our internal users attempting to surf the internet be required to authenticate with the Security Gateway 220 by entering a user name and password or will the authentication be transparent to them?

    AFAIK it can go either way.  You can join the gateway to the domain and have it be under the DC perview or have the users authenticate locally(means you will have to setup accounts on the ASL machine for every user).
