internet seems to be so slow?

hello people!

i have noticed that my internet connection becomes very slow. i think it is has something to do with Release 5.102. i think this happens since updating to this version...

i have an 1mbit cable connection, but surfing is very slow, opening pages takes ages... even google takes me 5-10 seconds...
that can´t be true, google opens usually very fast. but not only google opens slow, also other "good" sites are affected too.
ftp is very slow too. downloads are going (by http) slow too...

anyone an idea???

    What about v6 301.  I have a 850 athlon, 1 gig ram and 30 gig hd. Via chip mobo. I do have
    alot of features turned on such as = proxy,Ips,content,accounting,pop3 proxy,etc.

    When I first started w/ v6  I was usind a dual pII with 18 gig scsi and 256 ram
    Seemed very slow for thru put once items were turned on. I am using same
    net cards. On the average there is only 2 surfing, and web svr in DMZ.
    Anyone have any ideas or suggestions. I was going to start turning off features to see. Yes I do log alot of drops know as compared to 4 mos ago.
    I did not see why that should matter, since new hardware, more ram. Thanks
