IPv6 support

Dear *,

does anybody knows anything about the support of IPv6 in Astaro?
I read that it is not support in the current version, but the question is when will it be supported? Because Linux itself is working well with it...

Everybody is talking about IPv6 but I think as long as the required devices will not support IPv6...how should it be driven into the front row?

    I don't know if Astaro has any plans to implement IPv6 - but i think that's a good point to start a discussion. Personally i would like to know if anyone here in the board already works in a productive IPv6 environment. All version6 networks i know are in an experimental state. Many of the people i was talking to about it meant said that there is still no need for a change they simply don't expect significant improvements but costs. Last seems to be why  the industry doesn't enforce the rollout of IPv6 - at his still early stage it is hard to make any mony with this technology since customers are not yet willing to replace there old (just bought) equipment .

    I am really interested in your opinions

    When asking astaro support about IPv6, the answer is : "There is no IPv6 implementation in version 5. We don´t know if it will be in version 6 yet".
    But, it's very important to do it.

    is ipv6tables able to handle ipv4 traffic as well?

    To be honest I'm not too fussed about it.

    Yes IPv6 is nice, but really, it's a massive undertaking to convert across to it.  As a prior poster says, its really needs to be enforced by the industry, which I currently see no sign of whatsoever...
