Help with backup

Hello, Siddus here again !!
This time I would need some help in how I backup my 
astaro-settings since I am in the progress of changing
my Astaro-HD to a bigger one !!!

As always all help in this matter is appreciated

    Siddus,

    login via WebAdmin and change to System > Backup. Thats it, all your configuration settings will be saved and you can import the backup into a new installation.

    I just did this a few day's ago. I had a 6 gig drive that was not going to work. The storage started to fill vary fast and after about 8 day's I started to get notices that the voulme was filling up. I replaced with a 40 gig and it was just a matter of reloading from CD, Adding the License and then restoring the backup. I had to do nothing else after that and all was the same configuration.

    I think your problem is that your hdd is full at a short time? So you think that you need a bigger hdd.
    The backup option you can send i.e. at eMail address is for restore your settings if you crash your system or install a new version or kind of this. So you only need this little backup file from asl and you can restore your old settings to the new installation.
    The other point for your problem is that the hdd is full at a short time so you think you need a new, bigger hdd.
    A option at asl is that you can setup the asl so that old logfiles can be automatically deleted by the system. Please go to "Local Logs - Settings". At this section you can configure the file system with usage. Is it too full so you can configure that older logs can be deleted or ftp to another volume or things like this.
    I hope it will help you for a better manage your system. So you do not need a new, bigger hdd for asl.

    I found out that only all the webadmin related settings are put into the backup file (backup of 5.015, import to newly installed 5.1).
    The passwords for console login for root and loginuser are the same as before the backup was imported. So you have to choose the right passwords during the installation.
