nobody uses dhcp in the clients ?

If your client gets another license from the DHCP server, it will also be counted. AFAIK the license is based on the connection tracking table.This is IP address based and does not detect the us of the same MAC addresses. So every client which connects through the firewall to the internet (where the default gateway is set) will be counted. If the client appaers twice, every time with another address, both addresses will be counted by the astaro license daemon.

in big networks, is necessary to have active dhcp for the clients because to have static ip´s is not a good option and this astaro has not contemplated this problem. Astaro check the IP and not the MAC.

Either Reset Your Reset license IP counter from System >> Licensing 

Whenever you see that you are reaching your MAX Lincenses, this will reset the count of licenses and reboot the ASTARO box.

The other option is to make static reservations for all the clients based on their MAC addresses. Next time same computer will get the same IP ;-)

It does check the IP, not the MAC.  If you look at the licensing table, it shows what IP addresses have been counted.

Some clients have static ip in dhcp server but i have 200 clients  and to put 200 registries in the dhcp service with their MAC is very hard work  [;)]

I soppose if you could define the subnets to only have the amount of IP's that you have License for. This would allow for clients to grab another IP if nessasery but still allow for the Lic requrments. Maybe a Subnet scope for Internet clients only and another Scope that has no router defined or a internal router not the ASL.

I think you have 2 options to solve the problem. You buy a bigger license from asl (it is a fair price from astaro). The 2nd way is to bind the MAC at the ip´s. At the first time you have a lot todo´s. But at this way you can register the client pc´s and mac´s. Only this registered mac´s can connect to your network and so it is a additional security feature  
The 3rd way is to change the dhcp lease time for ip´s but this is unsupported from astaro and not the official way (if you do so I think the best way is not to set this time too long, so  a new user have at the next day a new ip, it sounds like dhcp ...).

Yes, licenses with MAC will be a good change for astaro.
