a short story:
last friday I received an UPS and wanted to install it for ASL and other two servers. I had an old one wich did not work well.
So I shutdown the servers and ASL. After installing the UPS the two servers bootet without any problem, but my ASL did not boot anymore. Hardwarefailure. The MoBo was killed. I was verry buissy and had no time to reinstall the whole ASL and importing the backup. I even was wondering if it would work do to the new and different Hardware. So I decided to only pick up the Harddrive and the NIC's from the killed computer and install it to the "new" computer and see what's happening. And what happened? it worked. I could not believe it. Also because the "new" Hardware was totaly different to the "old" one. The old one had VIA chipset and the "new" one has Intel chipset. [:S]
Since last friday I'm looking every log file to see if there are errors. but nothing. no errors at all. and it works.
I allways believed, since the first release of ASL, that ASL will be a Milestone in SW developping. We only have to have patience and wait, Astaro will make it, and they make it good their work.
