Suggestion for ASL

It could just be me and my limited network skill set, but I really like the way on my switches and old firewall that I could set and view interface settings like speed, duplex, etc.

I know that ASL is a linux distribution under the hood and there are ways of doing this via command line, but it sure would be nice if this could be handled via the web interface.  To me there is no logic in doing all the configuration stuff via web browser and then other duties via shell login.

Anyone else think this would be nice to see implemented?

    I voted no on this because I see this taking away from other higher priorities. There is a lot to implementing this if you talk about more than just MII changes. You'd need a different setting for WiFi interfaces, serial interfaces, etc. Too much low-level stuff in my mind.

    Agreed. The polling question is not as simple as that. It's, "Should ASL prioritize providing interface settings over which of the following features still being expected by Customers and Potential Customers?"

    Since you can edit modules.conf for now, and most people are not changing NICs everyday, it's not high priority. Hey, I'd like to see it! I don't enjoy poring over Search results to find out the conf parameters for oddball cards; but I suspect they haven't done it because they expect that customers will be more impressed with the other things they are working on right now.

    But if they can do it, it will make the product even more impressive...
