Is the astro firewall good for me?

Is the astro firewall good for me?

I need a firewall for the hosting servers (4 strong servers) in the collocation farm that I have in a big ISP.
I was thinking of taking 1U P4 1giga ram + SATA driver and test the security Linux…..

I have a 100MB line to the internet and I was wondering if it will take the load?
I will not use any proxy just the firewall rules for protection….
How much concurrent connection can it take? How about throughput?

What do you think? Can I do it?
Do you have any experience with this type of installation?

Maybe I should go with PIX…or checkpoint…

    We are using an ASL license to protect a small co-located server farm on a 100 Mbit/s connection. The web servers are easily serving appr. 10 million webpages each month. ASL has around 50 packet filter rules to chew on. The box ASL runs on is a P4 1800 MHz, 512 MB RAM, 20 GB HD and multiple NICs. The box is constantly running without any problems, usually no more than 4,000-6,000 concurrent connections are shown. CPU load almost unnoticable, RAM used around 160 MB.

    Summing it up, we're quite happy with the performance and wouldn't bother spending premium money on the competitors software.
