How easy is it to use ? I've used smart Checkpoint smartdesktop to configure Checkpoint Firewall-1.
How much does it cost ? We are thinking of using an Astaro appliance on three sites and I would the configuration to be done centrally and pain free as possible.
The ACM is not very easy to use, but you can learn it with a lot of time and engagement.. ;-)
No, joke away, the ACM is a great tool to configure the astaro, checkpoint and other firewalls. The only thing that i can say to the ACM that is bad is.... Version > 5.000 are not supportet with the new features, you can only configure features that are in the 4.xxx Version avaible ..
When you have a v5.0 then wait to buy the ACM, while you cant use it, while you cant give the serial for the ASL v5.0, they say every time this was an invalid Serial...
The price? I think to expensive for the support on v5.0...anyway, the price is oriented on the pieces of Node's that you will configure for 10 Node's the price will be near 5000 Euro, a great price for a software that not support the newest version.. ;-(((
Damn!!!! still waiting for the new Version It would be great, when astaro give more informations about the acm on there main product webpage - informations like (ACM ISN'T usable with V5 in the release 5.3)!
HI Jabbar, the new ACM 6.0.x is a powerful program - the software is change from V5: no more only a "windows" standard application, but with a client-server infrastructure (windows/linux server & client). You can use it for design you network/firewall (multivendor optional), manage project and deploy in few time (addictional to ver. 5 you can run some action for example force a remote up2date, reboot firewall) You can get all document on SOLSOFT site (about framework) - If you know the webmin interface - you should have no problem with ACM - You just need read the PDF before start
