we successfully use the ASL as Firewall and VPN Gateway as host -> net, for our customers.
But on all this installations our customers want to dial in to the network (PPTP) and remote working on the users PC's, but the problem is to wakeup the users PC in the network !
Now we had implemted a very bad but working solution. We running behind the astaro a webserver where we made a few websites with a SSI Perl Script which sends a magic packet to the sleeping users PC. With this solution the customer do the following steps:
1.) PPTP VPN connections host -> net
2.) open a webbrowser and go from a portal site to the users defined site to start the SSI perl scipt with a button on the website.
3.) after this still pings the wanted IP till the PC's is waked up.
4.) now the access to the users from the ASL PPTP Network is posible.
Now our intension is that the same function was implemeted on the ASL.
