Change Webadmin certificate expiration

hrmm..mine is set to expire in 2031....did you register your ASL 5 or are you running the eval version?(registration is free for home use)

Yup, it's registered.  A friend of mine also uses ASL5 at home (registered as a home user) and he says his webadmin certificate also expires after 30 days.

EDIT:  Alright, after a little more investigation when I double-click the "lock" icon in IE to view the certificate information after opening the Webadmin page it claims the certificate being used is valid till 2031, as expected.  But if I install that certificate to my trusted root CA's or download the certificate from the Webadmin then that certificate always has an expiration date of 30 days from when it was originally generated.

For example.  I went into the Webadmin page and generated a new certificate.  If I open the Webadmin page now via IE/Firefox, click OK to the certificate not trusted message the page loads.  If I view the security information within IE/Firefox both report the certificate was issued today, 8/15/2004 and being  valid until 12/31/2031.  But From within the Webadmin if I go into System->Wedadmin Site Certificate and choose to install the certificate the certificate webadmin supplies reports itself as being issued today, 8/15/2004 but expires in 30 days on 9/14/2004.  So while I can now import this saved certificate into the trusted root certificate authorities of my local PC allowing myself to load the Webadmin without any certificate errors or messages after 30 days the errors will return and unless I again regenerate a new certificate and then save and install it the "Install certificate" option will always install a certificate that expires on 9/14/2004 instead of 12/31/2031 as expected.

Has anyone else seen this behavior?  Does my description of what I am seeing make sense?

I do not install the certs...since i take down the machine because i need to reload it as i sometimes tinker with it and break it..[:)]

Can you see if you get the same thing though?  Go into the webadmin into Settings->Wedadmin Site Certificate and click 'Start' for install this certificate.  Save it to your system and then open the certificate (If on Windows just double click the certificat file).  When does it say it will expire, in 2031 or 30 days after you likely first installed ASL5?

i can verify that installing from the webadmin interface gives a 20-day installation.  Installing from the initial webadmin logong gives the correct installation.

30 days from today

Well at least that proves I'm not unique.  Does anyone know how to change this behavior, to either extend the downloadable certificate beyond 30 days or to have it be Dec, 31, 2031 like the certificate v4 generated?

yes..do it as i outlined in an earlier post.  Do not install it from within webadmin.  INstall it when you first log onto webadmin..[:)]
