Viewing logfiles in notepad

Hi,

when I try to view the logfiles in notepad the LF's and CR's are missing and thus all lines are displayed on one line which makes the logfile impossible to read. As far as I can remember this wasn't the case with version 4.x. Any plans to correct this ?

There's nothing really to "fix" ASL is a Linux (*NIX) product. This is a PC vs UNIX issue. The files are stored in a UNIX format and Notepad assumes a PC format. I use Textpad. It correctly interperets the file format and there are no display issues.

also you should really get your hands on a etter text editopr anyway. once you start trying to view large text file (+100Mb) you need an editor that accesses on the fly rather than open all then show

Yes I know that, but why did it work fine is version 4.x then ?

And with version 4.x I used mostlythe pop-up window view. But since ASL 5 doesn't show the entire live log, you have to download it first and then view it. And that's when notepad comes in.

get a better editor and compare a v4 log with a v5

the difference should stand out

i have never run V4 so i can comment

Use Wordpad instead of Notepad and it will be fine.
