How "realtime" is the IP Counter?

I'm concerned it may count DHCP assigned IP's that are no longer actually in use.  Often our organisations IP assignment changes daily.

I note that my dialup modem IP's are being counted although they are not currently connected.

When do records expire?

    I am hoping that the IP address of the interface itself does not count at all.

    Otherwise a 10 ip home license will only actually be 7 (with one dmz).

    Add to this the problems with DHCP issued WAN IP's I can think of no easy way other than IP not local to the firewall itself being counted.

    As i posted a while back IMHO the key here is the number of users and not the firewall itself. A home user with a ten interface firewall is still a home user. Its the user count that defines a home/SOHO/SME/Enterprise user not the firewall itself.

    I myself am having trouble with the IP count. Mine says 42 IP's yet I only have 8 PC's/Printers with IP's. I am trying to figure out where all the other supposed IP's are being used.

    Pay no attention to the IP counter - Astaro hasn't perfected it yet and there are known issues with it.

    Yes, the current IP counter is buggy.

    Astaro have been testing a new fix for this on my system here.  It now appears to be working, which is why I raised the issue.
