Missing Feature from v4 in v5!!

Hi!

I'm really missing some of the features, that 4.022 provided before!

1. The Proxy Reporting showing the cache hits etc.

2. The portscan action (drop, end connection).

3. The Accounting isn't really working for me in 5.011. Used the same settings as in 4.022.

4. Surf Virus Protection PLUS caching (is this possible?)

Maybe someone is missing those or other features too...

It would be nice to know, wheter Astaro is going to implement those features again!?

    no I am not missing anything

    1) no cache no hits
    2) changed feature with slow scan capabilities, blocking should be done by packet filters anyway
    3) for me it does so far but to be honest I do not check it on regulary
    4) afaik not since the scanner seems to act as parent proxy. It makes sense not to cache with content scanning enabled otherwise it may happen that you load unchecked content from the cache (if it was enabled without content scanning before). Of course I agree that it would be nice to have the cache but on the other hand 95% of the web pages contain uncachable dynamic content nowadays.

    2) packet filters are blocking, but I want to drop portscans on my external interface, like v4 did
    3) same config as in v4 but no accounting on my v5!

    I did like discussed in  this post. As I said, it worked well for my ASL 4.022! But no accounting on 5.011...

    I've spoke with the engineers, this feature is not in V5, you can no longer get summary and totals information about logged packet filter events, you can only query for the traffic that you've 'log allow'ed or 'log drop'ed in local logs > query. And to do that you have to query for 'SPT=25' or 'SRC=x.x.x.x' if you wanted to see logged traffic for smtp or from a specific ip address, respectively.

    Astaro has told me that there will be an add on report generator module or something like that (probably another server) as some people had problems at midnight with performance when the reporting would run wild. (certainly wasn't me).

    OK, now i get the point! I remember that old packet filter reporting! Used it myself a few times!

    The querying of the Log Files isn't that satisfing in my opinion!

    There are quiet a few reasonable reports missing in the new version...

    But what should we do with a drunken sailor?
