5.011 issues (mostly cosmetic)

Hi,

just installed 5.011 and came across the following issues:
- the NAT/Masquerading screen is too wide. The right side overlaps the line on the right side
- when viewing the contents of the proxies. The comboxbox is alway on top. This way you can't see the info presented when hovering above the 'clock' icon (on the SMTP proxy screen). The combobox is also always in front of the menus.
- As far as I can tell you can't view the contents of the active log file. When choosing live log you see only the last entries. You have to download the logfile in order to see it completely.

    I was going to start a new post but found this so I thought I'd just chuck my stuff here.
    Some of my issues have already been mentioned above.


    I do not really want to bag version 5 of ASL but I must admit to having quite a few *^#@* moments in the past weeks while trying to configure it. I like version 5, as a whole, but it still has some issues.
    These are some of my gripes:

    1. The Live Log for the packet filter seems to only work when it wants to not when I want it to. This is extremely frustrating as this is an absolutely necessary tool for analysing the system and modifying rules. Well, it is for me.
    On many occasions the log opens up blank and stays that way. On other occasions after running for some time it clears itself, not updating from that time onwards.
    2. I can’t save settings in WebAdmin.
    Unlike the previous version of ASL, this version gives no options to save any screen settings. Many of my pages exceed the length of the screen, hence it is necessary to “Show all” every time I change screens. This is time consuming and annoying.
    3. Viewing the current day’s logs is not possible using Local Logs -> Browse.
    It would be nice if access to all logs was available in the same place. To view the SMTP log for the current day, for example, one needs to go to Local Logs -> Query. There is another issue here too as selecting Today as the Time Span option displays the same logs as choosing Yesterday and Today. Well, it does for me.
    If you browse the available logs you are given the options of Live Log and Today for the current day’s log but both are the same thing, the Live Log.
    4. The pop out menus (from the main menu) sit behind drop down boxes.
    The result of this action is that the menu option (or the information pop up in the case of the Proxy Content Manager) is obscured by the drop down box and not all of the text can be read.
    5. I get kicked out of WebAdmin on a regular basis when clicking on an option having to log back in and boot myself.

    There are other things too but these are the main ones. Don’t get me wrong here, I like many of the new features in version 5 but there are still quite a few bugs that need sorting out.
    If anyone knows of ways to get around any of the issues I have identified above I would love to know how.

    This is more of an issue with IE and how it handles layers.  If you run any other browser this will not be a problem.  I am a web app developer and have run into similar issues with IE and have yet to find a good solution to this problem.  For some reason IE treats select input types differently than all others.  The only solution I have found is to completely hide the select boxes when the popout appears, this is not a good solution because it just looks very odd when it happens.

    My solution tell everyone to use FireFox, they will be much happier with it anyhow. [;)]
