Hi,

I would like the possibilty to switch of the emails when an Pattern Up2Date has happend. 

I have to control about 20 ASLs and when you get all this emails, you don't read any of those anymore.

    hi all,

    for secuirty reasons we like to inform the administaror of the firewall with all relevant information.
    to handle them easily we suggest to use a filter and serveral mail folders - thats why all notification types have unique IDs in the  subject line.

    to inform the administrator about every information is good but sometimes annoying. the option to let it send information when there error occurs should be an option like up2date not successfull, virus pattern up2date failed, that kind of info.

    on one hand you are right. the chance to overlook important mails is increasing
    but on the other hand: what would you do if for example the daemon is not running ?
    you won't get an email think everything is fine and sleep very well. but it could become a nightmare...

    we already do like markus recommends:
    getting all mails to one mail-account. there are several filters moving them to the right folders etc.

    I think it is a personal problem how you organize your e-mail box. It is very easy to sort out critical and informational messages - have a look, the manual gives you all needed information to set local mail filters accordingly.

    Using different email addresses is possible, and useful, when you look for one or two ASL boxes.

    But when you look for 20 ASL boxes as Henrik, or only for five like me, this way is not satisfying. You're not going to create and use 20 email addresses, 20*X filter rules with as many subfolders....
    And even if you do so, you not going to read all these mails.

    Keeping the possibility to the admin to choose or not to receive up2date pattern messages (as for backup files) is not so fool...

    A fine feature will be an only "still alive and all OK" message, every day (or every hour if choosen by the admin) from each ASL box.

    i have locally running kaspersky and on my servers symantec. you have the option to let them send email notification if you want. by default its off. some kind of a function in asl shouldnt be difficult.
