installation annoyance - hdd is too small for V5

i am sorry but can see no reason for astaro to do this.

Astaro is mainly positioned at business users, just lucky us home users get it too.  are logs at work are around 10 mb a day, hd space fills up very quickly.  hence the 6gb min set by astaro is not an issue.

there have been far too many posts on this.  it is 6gb..  deal with it.  Please lets move on

would YOU like to order a new HDD for me and all the others, who unnecessarily need(ed) to upgrade their HDD ?
4 gigs (i have it) should be enough for at least 250 days of logs, including the V5 installation.

since there are home-users around and since there is lots of old hardware around, which is powerful enough to run astoro, i`m sure this isn`t the last post! (maybe its the last from me - but other [not so loud] posts will follow)

maybe i`m a little bit "louder" as others - but i simply dislike such ignorance! 

let`s guess - V6 needs a 15GB HDD.....filled up with Please lets move on
there are home users which  complained about the home license restrictions. THEY should deal with it!  i see a reason for restricting astaro home usage, but i DON`T see a reason, being forced putting old hardware into trash, which would be quite ok and SUITABLE for running astaro.

6GB is nothing these days.  I have a 20GB drive in my home ASL box.  I'd ship you an old 10GB i have in my "junk" pile but really, 6GB shouldn't be an issue.

2&4GB drives are truly ancient.

Give it a rest. You are barking at the wrong trees here. A 6GB drive is worth what, $5.00 now? If you don't like it, I am sure Smoothwall might be worth a try.

You do not seem to realize, Astaro is and always has been commercial, and I for one can vouch that my work has no problems at all with the min requirements. Even at home I don't even use anything less than 10GB as it is too small..

Last time I checked, the commercial users are the ones who make Astaro money, not "home users".

yes - and home users, using astaro on a personal base first, will later buy that in the company they work. like me, for example.

i need a 2,5" model - and that`s at least 2-4times more expensive. add package and postage to that....the time for bidding on ebay, waiting for that hdd to arrive and then dis- and reassembing that  space optimized and somewhat catchy hardware arrangement in your self build firewall-mini-box.

i`m not really whining and crying, i just don`t see a technical reason for such installer limitations and i would like to recommend changing this. and that`s less for me, but more in general. 
how should astaro know, how many people pull out their too small sized drive and silently throw them into trash without grumbling?
 
i know someone who probably could spend a 8gig 2.5 hdd for me - but - that will proably just fit for V5......   with V6, all that hassle will start again......just because a  software telling me to swap my hdd [:(]
