ASL V5 PPTP (PPPoA) Bug?

Hi all!

I checked the actual list of known Bugs for ASL V5 and found out, that there is nothing written about any PPTP (PPPoA) problems. I had to downgrade to 4.021 yesterday, because my 5.001 installation was not able to connect anymore. Not even after a reboot, what actually was working previously. Well, it was actually connecting, for a few seconds, but got killed again because ping check failed (Yes, IP Address was correct and its a very reliable host). I also recognized on this BB, that other users are having the same problem.

What I am still missing is a concrete, official statement about this problem. Is it a known issue not yet listed, or is it of lower importance (priority)? As I stated earlier in this BB, I think this is a Bug in the automatic generation of the Packet Filter Lists. I really would like to further test 5.001, but I need Internet access and cant afford bigger downtimes (nagging wife...). Manually changing the Packet Filter Lists also doesnt help, because they are resetting faster than anything else I ever saw. Well, I hope someone is able to tell me something concrete, since I did not have the time to check the scripts by myselfe.

Nagging wife while beta testing Astaro is a known issue. (Kept cropping up from the first beta all the way to version 5 for me).

Unsure about the PPPoA though.

no it isn't. The thread you have linked to is about PPPoE reconnect, isn't it - nothing about PPPoA.

Well, actually the thread he linked to is about DSL-Connections. It is not mentioned wich type is used. In Germany they use PPPoE and here in Austria they use PPTP (PPPoA). I was thinking both have the same problem.

That's what i thought too, if the problem ocours due to any filters (maybe licensing, packet-filters, count of connections,ip, or whatever) it does'nt matter which type of con. we have - or?
But it makes no sence to discuss it anymore, i'am using a 6 hours reboot countdown until the next up2date...

hehe... lucky guy... i had to downgrade because asl v5 was not able to keep up the connection, even after reboot.
