Timeout for up to 15 Minutes

Today I encountered a strange behaviour:

While configuring and testing some VPN-Configuration from external (configuring with WebAdmin on external Interface) the connection broke down for up to 15 Minutes after changing some configuration details. (Ping timeout)

This does not happen when i'm using the WebAdmin from the internal interface.

Anyone having an explanation for that? [:S]

    Are you using some form of Dynamic DNS with DSL service?

    I used to see this issues occasionally when my IP address would change and it took that long for the DNS information to change (depending on your TTL time on the records).

    If not, please give a little more information on your setup.

    Yes indeed i'm using dynamic DNS in conjunction with DSL.

    But al over the day when I did it the IPAddress didn't change because my Mailserver polled every 5 Minutes.

    I know for sure cause I used the IPAddress in my VPN-Client configuration.

    what configuration changes did you make?
    anways... if this doesnt happen regularly, i would not wory to much about it.
