Dumbass user Error

Delete the certificate stored in your browser, it should be called "Firewall Administrator" and found in the Tools -> Internet Options -> Content ->Certificates section of IE

I should have mentionned the actual message:

"The page cannot be displayed
Cannot find server or DNS Error"

Clearing the Certificate from the store did not fix that.

since you can reach the system via ssh try restarting the system from the command line.

You know how often one sees the typical "DNS error" page and assumes that's not it..  Well, my DNS entry for that record (the one I had just given to the firewall) pointed to a private address...
