Min HDD requirement for ASL 5

Hi all

I have old pentium 166, 128EDO Ram, 2.5GB HDD running ASL 4.x with POP3 AV scaning.

Home user license + AV License 

I tried to reinstalled this machine with ASL 5.0 Release Candidate 1, it mentioned HDD is too small.

May I know what is the min requirement ?

The CD itself is just less than 300MB, why does it need such a big HDD for installation ?

I understand it support proxy etc but I do not use those services as the machine is very low end.

Hope there is some switches or by force proceed on with installation as I do not wish to buy a new hdd just for this.

    Hi All

    I understand it is very cheap to get a 20GB HDD now.
    In fact, I am thinking of taking a 13.5GB from a PIII Desktop to put into this old box and get a 40GB for that desktop.

    But before I do that, I must ensure by giving it a much bigger HDD on the same machine, it is fast enough to run those proxy services etc else the HDD is not utilised.

    Please advice.

    13.5Gb HDD 7200 RPM, 2MB Cache IBM
    3 3com NIC

    Is this enough to run all the proxy services with ASL 5.0?

    My current CPU usage on 4.021 is about 50% and RAM is 70MB used.

    Please advice....then I can plan for it once ASL 5.0 is fully released.

    5.000 and 5.001 have been using 80-100MB on mine (192 installed), with NO proxies running except SOCKS.
