virus protection

what does the smtp/pop3 virusscan do when it gets an email with an attachment zip file with a virus in it. does it remove the attachment and sends the email further to its destination or does it blackhole the email. zip is not in my file extension filter.

It will blackhole and not send it to it's destination. You can view the blackholed email in proxy content manager. Zip files are checked so it does not need to be in extention filter.

I mean the Virus engine of ASL can open compressed files up to 6 levels.
If the Virus engine find one, you can define what asl should do!
