As a complete newbee into Network Security, Firewall technology and ASL I am pleasantly surprised by the functionality and easy of use of ASL due to the user interface is to a great extend self explaining!
Setting up a secure network requires basic knowledge of network security concepts , issues and solutions. A thing a primarily do not expect the manual to explain. However there is a step to make from the theoretical model to the practical implementation.
Looking at the current manual a strongly get the feeling that it is focussed on describing all the screens and buttons provided by ASL instead of explaining how certain security solutions could be implemented with astaro.
I personally do find the guidebooks and several examples explained in the forum very usefull. Although I do not see the added value of a complete description from scratch how to implement certain features as explained by the guidebooks.
I think that the manual would improve if it provided some more practical examples. Next to that I would't mind if the reader gets redirected to some manuals, faq's or howto of underlying products used to build the ASL distribution.
