Hello World ! 

Can anybody explain how HA works ?

Here is my problem:

ASL 4.017 on HP/ Compaq ML370G3, CLustermode, 5nic´s (type pyramid tri-port)

Installation was no problem - very easy. But the manual / board contains no description how active node and hot-standby node work regarding hardware defects or missing ethernet links.

I´ve seen that on every attempt to simulate a defect the affected node goes to power of and the hot standby goes in active / master mode. if i simulate a defect on the hot standby, however the master goes to power of and hot stand by becomes master.

my question is: is that ok ? is it normal that the system goes to status power of ? 

i could not believe this, think theres a problem with my config. 

can anybody help or explain how this function (HA) works ?

    as discussed on the phone already there is nothing wrong with your configuration. It is a question of design. Personally I think it is the safest way to prevent from undefined conditions (think about problems appearing sporadically also). They way Astaro has implemented it gives you the chance to detach the broken unit from your network and to fix the problem unhurriedly. Afterwards simply reintegrate it.
