Toshiba Mangia SG25 (Locked Out)

We just got the Toshiba Magnia SG25 and I was setting it up and I seemed to have made a setting that has locked me out.

I can't ping the SG25, can't bring up webadmin, and the serial port is deactivated by default.

How do I gain access to this thing again?

With your SG25 you should have received several documents which tell you how to get support and how to activate the serial console. Please get in touch with support using the web form found at www.astaro.com/support

Acording to my documentation the serial port is deactivated by default. I tried this method and it doesn't work. I never really got a chance to activate it.

To use support you need the license key which is in the machine that I can't get at. Thus the form will not let me continue until I have license key.

Use the activation key as license key which should be printed on your registration card.

Ok, I tried that and it says to enter a valid license key and I rechecked the number a couple of times.

Toshiba support didn't even respond.  Said they would call me back in 4 hours and nothing.  Said they e-mailed all the techs and nothing.

I finally got the license key by logging onto the register portal site and it listed it there.

So I finally sent off a tech support request to Astaro and they replied fairly quickly.  Will be calling them today, because they have some other ideas on how maybe I can get back in.

Biggest thing I can say is if you get a Toshiba Magnia SG25 server is to enable the serial port right away so you can use the serial console if needed, otherwise your going to have to go through tech support.

Toshiba tech support finally called, but were unable to get us in. There suggestion was to send out a new hard drive, but were going to try Astaro's tech support suggestion first. Were just waiting for them to call us back.

Will let you know what happens.

I have an SG20, and to get at it, i just pop the hard-drive into my desktop on the end of a converter or into my laptop, and log in that way.

Change the files on the laptop/desktop, and then pop it back in to the SG20.

Not sure how useful this course of action is to you, but thought i'd suggest it anyway. [:)]
