MyDoom Virus with Astro

I need to know from the Astro users, your experince on blocking the Mydoom virus using Astro.

First of all did Astro stopped this virus on the first day itself?

    on the same time i read the info about the mydoom on heise/security/ i get emails with this virus. the asl has blocked all and know that was mydoom.

    when mydoom first came out Astaro's defs had not yet been updated..therefore i have about 10 get through..i use mozilla so i had not issues..i simply have ASL now blocking 55 attachments tyupes(including exe and zip among others) so i do not have to worry about any possible delays in defs behing pushed out...btw my ASL is set to update hourly.

    up2date hourly is the best what you can do, but you should also have a desktop antivirprogramm e.g. mcafee. read the actual ct-magazine to see the tests.

    I had a Problem with the update, so some mails went through...

    Pattern Up2Date failed. Virus Scanner uses old pattern base. These pattern are needed for using new pattern base:

    avp.set
    ...
    Please refer to the manual for detailed instructions.


    I have now Idea, what caused that to happen.
