Migration from Checkpoint to Astaro

Hello,

I'm planning to migrate my checkpoint 4.1 firewall to Astaro. But I have a very large set of rules (71) and many many objects. Does someone else deal with this problem? (i didn't find anything in this forum about this subject). Perhaps some script or tool have been developed...If at least i can find my objects back in Astaro i can deal with rules....

I've found cp2fwbuilder but i didn't manage to make it works, the output xml file contain only header but no data.

    If you Search, you will see an easy tool has been made as a feature request.

    I don't know if CP 4.1 can do it, but I have heard on some Checkpoint versions you can generate a list of iptables commands that reflect what you are implementing. So as a sanity check you can compare your CP's rules with Astaro's iptables rules by doing an iptables --LIST from console (it can be redirected to a file viewable in the browser).

    You are coming at a good time; the new 5 version has improved auditing to make it a serious contender for enterprise operations (which I suspect you might be, since you have already peeled off a lot of dough for Checkpoint).
