Spamassassin and Outlook 2003 (Bug ID749)

when will this be fixed ?  will there be an update to spamassassin 2.61 with an up2date patch ?

we have an increasing number of outlook 2003 users (outside our company) !

ID749 o 4.010 Spamscore 3.7 for messages which were composed with Outlook 2003

Description:  All messages scanned with Spam Detection that were composed
              with Outlook 2003 will receive a minimum score of 3.7 points
              regardless of content due to attribute FORGED_MUA_OUTLOOK
              triggering matches for Spamassassin conditions.

this is imho not a good solution: if i lower the value of FORGED_MUA_OUTLOOK realy forged outlook clients will get a low score as well.
adding outlook 2003 signature to the spamassassin db (or update to 2.61) is the only good solution.

maybe if MS would not have Outlook add extraneous stuff this would not be an issue..[:)]

Cue the Microsoft bashing.

So they should never update their software?

Without getting into a Microsoft == Evil arguement, Outlook 2003 isn't half bad, and is way ahead of Outllook XP in terms of stability, features etc.

I use Outlook 2003, and I would have described the new features as useful rather than "extraneous"

I'd have to agree. I currently have more linux and FreeBSD boxes than Microsoft boxes, but Outlook 2003 is a good thing.

You have to admit, they're getting better at the security thing.
