New Feature: redirect mail to a 2nd server ?

Maybe it's a nice feature to have an option to give a second mailserver when the first is not available... So when the 1st server is down or offline the mail will be redirected to the 2nd server.

    You can do this by setting astaro to deliever mail "by DNS MX record", and then setting primary and secondary mx records on your dns servers.

    Yes you could, unless you want astaro to be the primary MX record so that it gets all mails...

    Then, if Astaro is the only MX record, you cannot forward it using MX delivery... 

    Altough a feature to add more than one mail server route
    is nice... as far as I see there is more chance that the internet connection is down than the Mail server... and anyway if your primary server is down astaro should keep messages in its queue for a while...

    am I correct?... has anyone tried what happens if the mail server is unavailable and callout is enabled? are messages left in queue or refused?

    yes the mail will  'stock' in the queue

    If your astaro server used an internal DNS server you could have as many MX records as you wanted whilst the rest of the world used your external DNS MX record.
