Can you help me with my Astaro Linux V4 install?

OK, so I downloaded Astaro Linux Eval and am going to register it with the Home users license because I want to use it as a firewall.  However when I start the computer it asks for a Username and Password.  I enter Admin and nothing as the password and it won't let me log in.  

Plus I can't access it over my network at the address it told me to.  It is connected to a Netgear MR814v2 router with the router set as it's host.  I believe the server running Astaro gave itself a static IP which the router recognized and added it to it's attached devices list.

So basically, how do I access my server, either web based or at the computer itself?

    The console is accessible after install with username root and password root. But unless you're a command line gearhead who knows where everything is (there isn;t good documentation for the CLI -yet?), this will be fairly useless.

    So the idea is to give it the same network number and mask as the workstation from wich you will be accessing it, and do everything in the browser.

    Can you ping it at the address assigned during install?

    Have you tried accessing it through both NICs?

    What do you mean by "the router set as its host"??

    Maybe if you start throwing out some addresses it might help (but sanitize your real ones for security purposes...)

    I am a bit confused, do you mean to say that I should assign Astaro the same IP address as the console I will be accessing it from?  

    Yes, I can ping it successfully.

    It only has one Linksys LNE100TX NIC, I am evaluating the OS.

    Because I am evaluating it is set up as a client on my network (or I hope it is).  Should I disable the DHCP server on my router and see what Astaro will do?

    The network number is not your IP address (each machine's IP address HAS to be different); it is the portion of your IP address where the 1 bits of the mask are 'on' (255 being all 1's on in binary).

    Example: IP is 172.16.22.5, mask is 255.255.255.0; Network number is 172.16.22.0.

    172.16.22.5 and 172.16.22.6 have the same network number (for that mask of 255.255.255.0).

    Throw some numbers at us; sanitize your public ones for security reasons...
