I'm running 4.017, and a 3 NIC setup (one to the Internet, one Internal and one to a WAP). The WAP is offline right noiw, so the setup is actually fairly simple. I'm also running a local DNS (in a separate Zone file). When I'm connected to the Internet and generating traffic, all is good (load avg about 8%). But, if I quit generating traffic for about 20 minutes the load avg goes to 100% and stays there until I start trying to connect to some external site, which take about 5 minutes, and then the load avg comes down and things start working.
