Home User License

I think  this has everything you are asked except how many vpn connections are supported.  That I do not know. 

Are there really no restrictions because of the license duration?  I want not to have to buy a license after one year.

Wenn ich es richtig sehe, dann kommst Du wie ich aus der Schweiz! Darum spreche ich ausnahmsweise mal Deutsch ;-)

Also folgendes zu den Restriktionen:

Home User License läuft nicht aus, und wenn doch sicher nur bei neuen Versionen, Du wirst aber wie gewohnt eine neue Lizenz bekommen, sofern Du nur Home Use machst ;-)

Restriktionen kann ich Dir nicht genau beantworten aber ich weiss soviel darüber:

Sie entspricht ungefähr der Office Version, hat also folgende Merkmale...

10 IPs, Up2Date
10 VPN tunnels
3 NICs
5 SMTP Domains
90 Tage Web Support => Das weiss ich nicht?

Virus und HTTP Blocker => ca. 50 Euro

Wenn Deine Home Use License nicht ausreicht, kannst Du auch eine grössere Lizenz ordern (auch free) aber dann musst Du auch mehr im UBB (Forum) arbeiten und den Leuten aktiv helfen so wie ich gerade ;-).

The restrictions of the Astaro Home User License is the same like the office version. But the Home User License has free Up2Date Service.

When the Home User License are not enough for your network you can order a greater license, but you must work on UBB as active Supporter ;-)

Ja sicher...

aber denk einfach daran... je bessere Netzwerkkarten Du einbaust, desto weniger Probleme wirst Du in der Zukunft haben und bau gleich zwei (drei) gleiche Karten ein, das ist die idealste Lösung ;-)

was hat dies mit der qualität der nic zu tun??? auch alte smc nic's laufen noch perfekt....

und klar, ich kauf mir gleich das via epia-cl6000 (hat 2 onboard nics), da ich bei mir physikalisch eh keine chance habe, eine dmz aufzubauen, da ich nur einen server habe und die restlichen server in einer vmware umgebung laufen habe...deshalb brauche ich sicherlich auch keine dritte nic! 

I think he means that with better NIC's you will have less problems because better NIC's can do some work themself.
Wich cheap/old NIC's the CPU of the firewall will have to do that work.

I agree in a home network the CPU load will not be a problem, so I agree your old SMC NIC's will do a good job.

The advantage of using 2 or 3 equal NIC's will probably the fact that ASL can use the same driver for all NIC's instead of using different drivers for each NIC.

For my home network I use a PIII 550 with 128Mb and 3 3Com 905CX NIC's.
The CPU load is never over 10%, so I think this hardware can handle much more traffic than I can possibly generate with my 512/256 Internet connection at home.....

Because I buy the new EPIA board anyway, I should not have performance problems.
