Monitoring Traffic

Can someone please tell me if there is an easy to setup and use tool to monitor traffic with Astaro? This product is new to my techs and I would like to be able to send them in the right direction so we can maybe see why our T1 is so slow. Thanks in advance.

    You would want to start by going to Network---Accounting and turning on Trafficf Accounting. Tell it to monitor the Internal and / or external interfaces, and after a bit of logging has taken place you can head to reporting and get a breakdown of what is being used where. If you are wnating to know minute-by-minute reports, the MRTG graph for network can be useful as well in some cases.

    please have a look @ http://docs.astaro.org/older_versions/ASL-V3.2/docs_v3/hacking/
    There you find a toolset which comes with tcpdump. To install follow the advise given in the
    tools.txt file.

    Some more points to start debugging from:

    - check the kernel logfile for the expression SPOOF, in case of having those entries you'd have to
      reconfigure your network or network addressing on the firewall (proceed with searching the board)

    - Check the interface error counters, either with  ifconfig @ the console or WebAdmin:Reporting/Network.
      RX/TX errors or carrier lost errors may cause you problem.
