Accounting - what am I doing wrong?

Assuming that there is a logical reason for everything, I'm not able to get accounting to work correctly (ASL 4.015) and I'm not sure why.  I've selected a few sample networks to query, and here is all I get:

    accounting doesn't seem to be a core competency of Astaro but it is able to give you an idea about what is passing through the firewall. If you want to receive more detailed reports you have to enable accounting for the according interfaces e.g. eth0 for the internal LAN and eth2 for the DMZ. Traffic between the accounted networks will not be displayed in the report. In case you need to know what is passing the firewall towards the ISP (summary) you have to select the external interface and to account the external IP   only . The problem here is that accounting takes place after masquerading.

    To enable accounting on Astaro are two steps nescessary. First is to select the interface to account on -> WebAdmin:Network/Accounting. Second step is to configure acounting report generation under WebAdmin:Reports/Accounting.
