PPPoE Reconnect

I have a PPPoE DSL conncetion on my Astaro Box.  Every so often i will "loose" my connection ( i believe it's dsl dropping) and the interface has NEVER brought itself back up.  In order to get it to come back up i must delete all my masq. rules, then delete the interface, restart, install interface, restart, up interface, restart, then HOPEFULLY it comes back up.  I tried this (as found in another bost regarding same topic):

--> goto
vi /var/chroot-pppoe/bin/DSL.sh
*or use any other editor*
and modify the PPPORETRY = 60

with no luck.  This is very aggrivating, especially when you have numerous masq rules.  PLEASE HELP.

    I thought perhaps that by my DSL going down, and decreasing the reconnect from 15 minutes, to 60 seconds would help.  But as you and i have both noticed, it doesn't work.  How do i go about installing the patch you linked me to?  Im not too familiar with linux.
