CPU at 100% Process called superdaemon

This process is running at 80% cpu on  the box out and i don't know why.

I am running Astaro with 0.11 patch. This problem was happening with 0.10 patch also and has not gone away after update.

I have read the forums and other people have mentioned this but no one has responded.

Anyone care to shed some light on this ?

    Is that prozess always running on 80%? Have you tried to kill that prozess (it will be restarted automaticaly) or have you tried to reboot the firewall?

    rebooted the firewall .. every day .. for the last 3 days .. seems to knock it off the net completly.

    after reboot it works fine .. but the cpu is still at 100% .. im going to have to rebuild it if i cant get a fix here.

    This may be a shot in the dark, but is it possible that a client behind the Astaro is infected with the Blaster worm or one of it's variants? If you disconnect all machines from the internal interface does the cpu usage stop? What happens is infected clients pummel their Interface on the ASL with 100 meg of traffic (if connected with 100 meg cards) constantly, and if you have more than one it can bog down the processor depending on it's power. 

    Usually if being attacked from the outside the attacker is limiited to whatever bandwidth he can find or steal on the internet connection side, however on the internal there is a huge pipe from the client directly to the ASL, and if more than one client is infected it can keep the ASL very busy indeed.

    Seen several people with tons of infected clients hammering the astaro with 100meg/sec  from the inside, which the ASL  must then block and log...

    Might be the source of your problem here.
