broadband

does anyone have any experience with @home broadband.

i tried to configure it but without success. this provider works on computername base. and the ips are dynamic. does this work on astaro. i have a motorola cable modem.

    i already read that post. astaro doesnt get the ip from my isp.
    i entered the hostname in settings. and in interfaces i selected standard ethernet interface --> assign by dhcp. it doesnt work. at the moment im using a netgear broadband router rt314. 

    maybe a feature for the next update or release to add broadband support in astaro.

    Have you done a hard reset of the cable modem (> 1 min.)?  Some systems lock the DHCP to the first NIC it sees and you would need to get it released before using another NIC.

    I have the same cable modem. In order for me to get the DHCP info from my ISP I had to do what Pablito says.... unplug that Modem for 1-2 min. Then re-plug it in. Also make sure you are out of the ASL webmin. For some reason mine would not take an IP while I was in the Webmin. If I was out of it all worked fine.
