Can't enable QoS for an interface?

Hi all,

Okay so here's the story... I try to go in and enable QoS on either interface eth0 or eth1... I set my link bw and my reserved and my mtu... hit save... and it takes me back.. so I'm thinkin cool it saved my settings so I check under Network-> QoS and there is nothing there... I create a rule but it doesn't work so I check back in interfaces and it's as if I never touched the goofy thing... doesn't hold any of the settings... now I'm not sure if its supposed to just default back to off but if it is I think its a little deceiving... if it's not then why is mine...Just a little confused thats all..any advice?

    I am doing the above steps... I hit save and it takes me back to the interfaces screen with the same issue... have two different nics... one is an intel eepro using the e100 driver... (external interface to dhcp via cable modem) and then a realtek 8139 chipset card using the 8139too driver... for the internal net...Im going to be reinstalling it soon anyway when i get another drive but until then i was just wondering if there might be a reason why its doing it

    Hrm, no idea why it wouldn't be saving the settings.  I use Intel Pro 100 NIC's here.

    Have not tried Realtek though.  Suggest contact Astaro support.

    I definately will if the reinstall doesn't fix it... I'm suspecting that during a drive lock up (the whole reason i need a new drive before i can reinstall) while I was playing with QoS after the initial install it freaked out somewhere and now it won't bring it up... no sense in installing onto something thats already broken... I'm sure this isn't a bug with Astaro itself because I'm the only one experiencing the problem... at least from what I've seen on this board... There was one poor soul that had a similar problem but from what i could tell from his post he just wasn't going thru the motions right... anyway... I'll let yall know if the reinstall solves the problem...

    the advanced settings seem to be inactive since the button remains red.
    Please check the file /etc/wfe/conf/itf.conf your qossed interface should
    read like

    If your settings look different or the changes are not applied you could
    check the file permissions

    I know for a fact int.conf doesn't have the qos values haven't gotten a chance to check the permissions on it yet...actually I'm willing to bet that is the problem though... itll teach me to use an editor as opposed to using sed to replace something...will post once i find out for sure

    And sure enough permissions for itf.conf were wrong actually ownership was wrong.. kudos to you oliver.. thanks much... found that problem before i reinstalled... now everything is working beautifully...you guys rock

    I have the same problem.
    After enableing the advcanced options of an interface and
    saving, the informtaions are lost.
    ow to enable the advanced options?
