Astaro with APC SmartUPS ?

I have not had time to look through the supported hardware features of Astaro, but was wondering if an APC UPS is compatible with Astaro ? I will be using a PowerStack 1U (with Smart UPS signalling) to the serial port using the supplied serial cable

Anyhow, off hand does anyone know if its possible to use this UPS with this so that if it goes onto battery power that it can automatically shutdown after a specified time ? I use these UPS's fine with various other server's (RaQ's, 2k Server, Linux etc), but as this is proprietary I am unsure....

    Me works Apcupsd ( www.apcupsd.com ). I have Astaro 4.009  with APC Smart-UPS v/s 420.

    I found that in a post earlier, looks just like what I need... but I am pretty new to Linux, so if you could give me steps on how to download this on the Astaro box itself (has direct internet connection) how to install it and basic setup, that would be excellent !

    for installation and compilation Apcupsd is necessary PlusPack for ASL V4. Manual Apcups ( http://www.apcupsd.com/manual/apcupsd.pdf ) is very well  written and compilation and installation apcupsd is very easy.

    I am modify script HALT and into directory /sbin/init.d am add one script apcupsd and into directory /sbin/init.d/rc3.d am add two scripts S70apcupsd and K70apcupsd  so that apcupsd starts with ASL.


    It is possible make copy compiled files into another's ASL. I have two ASL with motherboard Intel ( SCB2 and R845GEBV2 ) and function apcupsd is OK. I may compiled files sent or attach to web.
